Mornings with MG: Smoothie Recipe

After rolling out of bed in the morning it can be so easy to opt out on a bite to eat. It is vital to put some food in your tummy before starting your day!

Acai Smoothie Recipe:

1 banana

1 frozen acai pack

1/2 cucumber

handful of frozen strawberries

splash of coconut water (you can be the judge of how much water you prefer. start with a little at a time)

1 tbsp of agave

ice if you used fresh fruit

optional- protein of choice (if your vegan like me, you have to try a little harder to get in the right amount of nutrients. i recommend putting protein powder into your smoothies, grits and oats)

 

tips:

always use frozen fruit it will keep your smoothie cold.

you can even use coconut milk if you want your smoothie to be thicker/ creamy.

the acai berry is an antioxidant that helps balance cholesterol levels.

you can add chia seeds (these offer omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium. they also expand in water which help make you feel full longer).
