Cure Those Spring Blues:

a Guide to a Kickass Staycation in Nashville

written by Bethany Krapohl

If you’re like us, you’ve recently been scrolling through a sea of beautiful beaches, fruity drinks and teeny bikinis on Instagram. Spring Break 2018, am I right? Unfortunately, March and April are often just somewhere-between-winter-and-spring-weather months for many of us… maybe a little more time off but many of us are too deep in the work and school grind to get away.

I’ve got good news for those of you daydreaming about your next vacation – Molly Green HQ (@shopmollygreen) sits in the heart of Nashville’s Wedgewood Houston neighborhood and, even though we’re feeling a bit blue about our personal lack of spring break getaways, we rounded up the crew to explore those hidden gems in and around the Nashville area that will help you turn your time off into a kickass staycation. Because guess what?! Did you know one-freaking-hundred people move to this amazing city every day? Forbes even called us the #7 fastest growing city of 2018 (see for yourself)!

Whether you’re a foodie, a fashion blogger or a history buff, MG’s got you covered. Grab a friend and get to sightseeing!

If you haven’t spent much time up in Germantown, the time has come! It’s blowing up, you guys!

A few of our personal favorites: coffee at Steadfast, brunch at Henrietta Red, drinks at Butchertown Hall, and dinner at Kuchnia & Keller.

One of our newest faves is Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria (911 Buchanan St). It’s a make-your-own-pizza version of Subway with UNLIMITED TOPPINGS! Guys, this is not a false alarm – if your little heart desires five meats, get yourself all the meats! We’re also obsessed with their local beer selection and adult slushies.

At MG, we love finding and supporting other local brands who are absolutely killing it. FASHIONABLE (www.livefashionable.com) is one of those brands and their showroom is located over in the Nations (5022 Centennial Blvd). Their slogan is “beautiful products by women who have overcome” and their aim is to end generational poverty by creating jobs and ending the cycle of charity dependency.

If you haven’t spent much time exploring the Nations, we’d suggest grabbing a latte at Frothy Monkey and checking out ABLE’s beautifully-made leather goods and curated spring collection.

The Natchez Trace Parkway is the 444-mile trail that runs through Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee and is the historic corridor traveled by the American Indians and European settlers. There are beautiful areas to hike, horseback ride and camp along the way. If you’re headed down for a day in Franklin, you can avoid the highways and drive through some of the scenic back roads (like over the Double Arch Bridge).

If you’re really looking to treat yourself, we highly suggest a stay at Noelle (www.noelle-nashville.com) downtown. It’s an experiential hotel with a rooftop bar (Rare Bird), a restaurant (Makeready Libations & Liberations), a lobby bar (Trade Room) and also a hidden speakeasy bar in the basement – think you can find it?

We love the vintage aesthetic of the entire hotel and their bartenders are some badass mixologists. Our drink recommendation is the Twentieth Century.
